Festivities in Qionglin ~ Finally!

Cake time!!! We get so many cakes from the Malaysians! They are awesome! :) They feed us and make us fat and happy! Haha. The pink things are macaroons! YUM! Overall, this cake was just okay. It was a fruit cake, but the cream inside the cake didn't taste too good. Almost like the cream went bad or something. Me, Aimee and Betty devoured the cake in like 20 minutes. HAHA. Midnight snacking!

During the past 2 days, there has been some festivities going on in Qionglin, not sure what it's for though. I think it's mainly for the Ghost month (鬼門開). So they put on shows and food stalls around the streets.

And this probably only happens once a year, but they'll have a pig competition to see who has raised the biggest pig! This one you see here, can't even compare to the ones you'll be seeing later! ;)

Saw an Asian style parade at night! A whole bunch of cars with flashing neon lights just driving by playing loud ass music! Hah! It was really interesting, never seen anything like it before. There were at least 13+ of these bright cars!

Different figures on top of the cars and different music will play too.

Never have I've seen Qionglin this festive before! 好熱鬧! Usually it's a pretty boring and quiet place....day time and night time. It was almost like a night market that appeared out of nowhere! LOL

There were sooo many food stalls with so much variety of stuffs! 

Stinky Tofu!! I ate SO much, I felt like I was about to explode! I didn't get a chance to take a picture of all the food I ate because I was too busy eating it! :)  I ate 鳥蛋 (Birds egg), 西瓜汁 (fresh watermelon juice), 鍋貼 (potstickers), 水煎包 (water-steamed bun), 烤魷魚 (BBQ squid), 蚵阿煎 (oyster omelette), and 菠蘿麵包 (pineapple bread)! SO MUCH, RIGHT? :)

NOW THIS.... is a big fucking pig. Haha. It's been killed and skinned, so that the skin stretches. These pigs can weigh up to 1000 kg!!! Insane! They're called 豬王.

HUGE squids! These one's cost 100NT, the one I got costs 50NT and was like half the size! Haha Yummmm, I love BBQ squid! 烤魷魚!

Me, Aimee and Betty played a game of dart balloons. Betty is #8, I'm #9 and Aimee is #10. Hahaha, as you can see we're not too good at this. BUT, the owner was nice to us since we're foreigners, that's always our excuse, that he gave us all a prize just for playing!
